How to Unroot / Unbrick Samsung Galaxy S4 – Stock ROM: If you want to unroot / unbrick your Samsung Galaxy S4 phone, then you have to flash correct Stock ROM for your device using Odin tool.

This step by step easy tutorial will show you how you can remove any custom recovery, custom ROMs that you may have installed on your Galaxy S4. It will also unroot and unbrick your Galaxy S4. If your phone is stuck in boot loop, then no worries this guide will work for you.

This guide will work all Galaxy S4 device, including International GT-i9500, GT-i9505, T-Mobile SGH-M919, AT&T SGH-i337, Verizon SCH-i545, Sprint SPH-L720, US Cellular, Canadian SGH-i337M.

 

Note: Do not try to flash old firmware build. E.g. If you have already installed the latest build 4.4.2 then don’t try to flash 4.3.
Flashing the Stock ROM will delete everything from your device, so take a backup first.

How to Unroot / Unbrick Samsung Galaxy S4 – Stock ROM:

Step 1: Turn off your phone and wait until it shutdowns completely.

Step 2: Press Home, Volume Up and Power buttons at the same time to boot to the recovery mode.

Step 3: In Recovery mode, clear phone memory by selecting ‘wipe data/factory reset’, and also clear cache memory by selecting “wipe cache partition”.

 

[Note: use “Volume keys” to navigate and “Power button” to select an option, in Recovery Mode]

 

Step 5: Now power off your phone by selecting “advance”, and then “power off”.

Step 6: Press Home, Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time and you will see the warning screen, and just press volume up and you will be in “Downloading Mode”.

Step 7: Connect your S4 to your PC using a micro-USB cable.

Step 8: Unzip Firmware file that you have downloaded specifically for your phone’s model, you will find a file with .tar.md5 extension.

Step 9: Unzip oddin zip file and run “Odin3 v3.07.exe” file.

 

Then you should see blue highlighted box on ODIN software, right below the ID:COM text. If not then install Samsung Kies to install Samsung USB drivers for your device, then unplug and plug micro USB cable to your phone, then you should see blue box.

 

Step 10: Now Click on PDA and select the Firmware file that you have downloaded before (The file ends with .tar) and click on start to begin flashing Stock ROM on your phone.

 

When it is done you will be in complete stock rom, just like you bought a new phone.
